The applicable temperature range for galvanized pipes is usually between -20℃ and 120℃. This range is determined based on the stability of the galvanized layer and the physical properties of the pipe. In low temperature environments, galvanized pipes need to maintain sufficient toughness and impact resistance to ensure that brittle fracture does not occur. In high temperature environments, the galvanized layer needs to remain stable to avoid accelerated corrosion due to high temperature oxidation.
The quality of galvanized square tubes is affected by the selection of raw materials, production process, galvanizing process, and post-treatment.The selection of raw materials will affect the quality. Galvanized square tubes usually use low-carbon steel or alloy steel as the base material. If the chemical composition of the steel does not meet the standard or there are defects inside it, it will affect the quality of the final product. High-quality raw materials can effectively improve the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the galvanized layer. The production process will also directly affect the quality of galvanized square tubes. During the production process, hot rolling or cold rolling, welding method, and dimensional accuracy of the pipe need to be strictly controlled. These factors determine the strength and service life of the pipe to a certain extent. The selection and control of the galvanizing process is also key. Hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing have their own advantages and disadvantages. Hot-dip galvanizing generally provides better corrosion resistance but has higher requirements for equipment and operation. During the galvanizing process, the temperature, time of molten zinc, and the immersion speed of the pipe will affect the uniformity and thickness of the galvanized layer.
Weld shape: The weld of straight seam welded pipe is a straight line, while the weld of spiral welded pipe is a spiral line with different spiral angles.Raw material: Straight seam welded pipe requires a specific width of raw material strip or steel plate for each specification of steel pipe. Spiral welded pipe can produce steel pipes of different diameters using the same width of strip steel.Stress: Due to the different weld shapes, the synthetic stress at the spiral weld is 60-85% of the main stress of the straight seam welded pipe. Therefore, under the same working pressure, the wall thickness of spiral welded pipe of the same diameter can be reduced than that of straight seam welded pipe.Production: In the production of small and medium diameter welded pipes, straight seam welded pipes have greater advantages; in the production of large diameter welded pipes, spiral welded pipes have absolute advantages.
